I purchased Big John Mfg's speedy soil sampler. The product is very under powered and completely unable to pull any soil sample deeper than 8" in a consistent and efficient manner. I have made several adjustments recommended by Big John Mfg's engineers and that did not change the performance of the sampler. I also had a Big John Mfg engineer inspect the sampler, and I was told everything is in working order. When trying to pull any soil sample deeper than 8 inches, the auger will stop turning leaving the probe stuck in the ground. On average, a 0-36 inch sample will take 10-15 minutes. I would not recommend this product to anyone!
I purchased a grain storage bag sold by Big John Mfg, and manufactured by Rush-Co. The bag only lasted a couple months when I was promised one year plus. The workmanship of the bag, the welded seams failed, air got into the bag and ripped the bag apart in the middle of winter. I was forced to haul the grain into the elevator early and therefore forced me to pay the storage costs I was trying to avoid by buying the bag in the first place. Big John charged me $3300 for the bag that only lasted a few months, my storage costs ended up being much higher than that in the end. On top of that, I have lost many hundreds of bushels of wheat because of spoilage due to rain and water getting inside of the bag. Another reason for the large amount of moisture inside the bag was because of the poor quality of the materials used on the bag, there were many pin-holes in the material which did not stop moisture from getting in. When talking to company employees a few months later, they stated that they knew the bag was only meant for use of up to two months and not more. They also said that they would not purchase their own bag if they needed temporary grain storage. When I tried to contact the company, steve in specific, they would not return calls ever, constant calling was necessary to talk to anyone. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY, LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE.

I have never had to work with a company that was so unorganized in my life. When i bought the equipment it did not even work. I took it back and they repaired the equipment and then charge me even more then the original price we agreed upon. And I am not talk about a few little dollars. It was a couple thousands more. I bought a soil sampler system, a total mistake on my part. What a joke. The system never worked to begin with. Now it does thank to my advise. Needless to say I returned the piece of junk back to them. Now they still want me to pay for the system.
